I’m having a classic problem of Good Pay vs Good Work.
On one side, you get to stay in a really cool country, buy (or rather windowshop) cool gadgets, be with friends of the same wavelength (gadget freaks and anime freaks), save a lot of money (working on that), experience snow (di na kelangan mangalkal sa freezer), have an internet connection with 100Mbps speed (download! download! download!), and have some of your dreams fulfilled (bahay, lupa, impyerno ngek!).
On the other side, you get to stay in your home country (also a way wicked country), be with close friends, still save some money (uh…), not need to learn a foreign language (yeah!), have uber-cool projects (systems programming! how hardcore is that!?), stay at a rank that’s deservingly yours (i think i do hehe), and have some of your dreams fulfilled (pwede akong magmasters).
Kaya heto ako, still scratching my head and wondering, “l*ch, kung kelan ka naman hindi naghahanap ng trabaho, nagsusulputan mga offers na parang kabute!“
Good Pay offer came first. Then, Good Work offer came and made my night sleepless. Halos, itaboy na ako ng mga friends ko dahil ang kulit kulit ko na raw sa kakatanong, “Good Work? o Good Pay?”
(Syempre, this is Maharlika. Good Pay is somehow winning. =P)
In whatever way this is making my life a lot more confusing than it already is, having a friend down 12 sleeping pills (with 3 vitamin C pills, 8 Vitamin E and a probably half a bottle of Iron tablets), I can honestly say my life’s still good. (^_^;)
My friend is okay now (although sabi nya sobrang sakit ng ulo nya after nya ginawa un. At sa totoo lang, gusto kong ipukpok ung ulo nya dahil sa ginawa nyang yun!). Kaya balik ulit ako dito hehehe…
Sabi nga sa isang article eh “Good Pay that you can buy s*x? or a Satisfying Job that it can replace s*x?” Weird analogy though.

My “Minoue Sodan”, everything is a matter of priorities, i would say, go where you’ll be happy….if good work will give you a decent life, job satisfaction, professional development and open the doors towards your dreams, then go for it. However, if your goals is towards material satisfaction like owning a house, jewelries, money for your lakwatsa, wealth that can enable you to buy your gadgets, etc etc then go for good pay. Question is, will you be happy with your job or will you hate every minute of it? That is a horrible situation that you don’t want to be into. Personally, I would like to work on a decent job that can give me a feeling of achievement. Money becomes a primary concern only if your lifestyle requires it or you have pressing obligations to meet. A word of caution, opportunity to make money knocks only once, and if you don’t grab it, then it will just pass by never to return. This calls for a careful evaluation of the opportunities if front of you, if a high paying job will also give you job satisfaction, professional advancement and high esteem aside from monetary rewards, then there is no difference. Think of the adventures and the myriad of job opportunities that will open to you in the land of “shinkansen”and “surippa”. While you are single explore the world. Whatever your decision, I’d like you to know that we are 100% behind you.

good work or good pay: hmm, difficult question. How about good work WITH good pay? Pick what you love to do, it would be hellish to be sitting your bum and spending all your day waiting for the 5pm bell to ring.

sabi nga ni tatay its a matter of priorities..if you want to be a millionaire before reaching 30 yrs old, go for good pay..if you want to maximize your intellect go for good work..Ask God for a sign He will also help you to decide what is good for you..

Agree ako kay Grace F, why choose when you can have both. Go for good pay, tsaka mo na lang hanapin yung good work sa loob nung kumpanyang may good pay. Hehehe.
