The Sad Junkie Life

I’m a Gadget Junkie. I’m crazy about gadgets! I was once called Gadget Girl by some friends. But I’m not all that crazy about saving money. (Haha!) That’s why I can’t have all the gadgets I want. Imagine the horror/frustration/excruciating control I must be having if I were to live super near Akihabara the Electric Town in Japan.

(Hi Paolo! I know I know. Sobrang ready na bang bilhin ang Playstation 3? Inaabang-abang na ba? Hehe.)

Not only am I a gadget junkie, I’m like a Gadget Psychic or a Gadget Whisperer.

Speaking of gadgets, I just brought a Gameboy Color adaptor. =)

Among the hidden gadgets, Gameboys!

You heard me right. Plural po yan. With an ‘S’.

1. Gameboy Classic
– meron po kami! ung mukhang gray brick na me monochrome display with 4 levels of gray. (Nung araw pa, “Wow! Four levels of Gray! Grabe!”). (“Cool! Does it work underwater? … I guess not.”) Naayos din sya after ilang years. Siguro natuyo.

2. Gameboy Color
– ung maliit na nabubulsa nang version. 2 AA batteries lang (cheaper playing time!) at colored. Came out after almost 10 years nang lumabas ung classic. By then, bunso has learned na hindi marunong lumangoy ang mga gameboy.

3. Gameboy Advance
– ung malapad na version with smaller cartridges. nakakasupport na ng 3D graphics at nagkaroon ng additional buttons L at R for the other fingers. Bunso has developed an interest in gameboy, sya nagorder neto (at nung gameboy color).

4. Gameboy Advance SP
flip-top version parang cellphone. Sobrang liit dahil natitiklop. With backlight at rechargable internal batteries. Ideal for bunso na maglaro kahit pinapatulog ng Nanay. (Nagtatago lang sya sa ilalim ng unan.)

5. Nintendo DS
– Latest order ni bunso. Malapad at may dalawang screens. Me sariling OS.

Behold the evolution of gameboy! Wala kaming Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Micro at Nintendo DS Lite. But still, kakaiba pa ring koleksyon di ba?

Recently namatay na ung Gameboy Classic. Unti-unting nagfade-out ung LCD. Either nagtampo kase di pinapansin o talagang old age lang. (Ultimate champion ako up till now =))

Don’t know what to do with them. Medyo masakit kase di nagagamit although fully working.

Ngayon it’s workable. Then what? Hay…

    – paolo
